Efficient blue organic light-emitting devices based on novel anthracence derivatives with pronounced thermal stability and excellent film-forming property

, p. 622 - 627 (2006)
A series of anthracene based blue host materials was synthesized and characterized with respect to their chemical, luminescence, film-forming and thermal properties. The anthracene derivatives are strongly blue fluorescent (λf = 435-445 nm) with high fluorescence quantum yields (Φf = 0.71-0.85). All of these compounds have excellent film-forming properties and thermal properties. Organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) fabricated using these three compounds as blue host emitter and using 0.5-wt% tetra (t-butyl) perylene (TBPe) dopant in the emitting layer exhibit good light emitting performance with bright blue emission.
Ligand-free nickel-catalyzed Kumada couplings of aryl bromides with tert-butyl Grignard reagents

supporting information, p. 597 - 600 (2019/01/05)
A ligand-free nickel-catalyzed Kumada cross-coupling of aryl bromides and tert-butyl Grignard reagents led to the formation of a series of tert-butyl aryls in moderate to good yields, excellent tBu/iBu ratios, and good functional group compatibility. A radical coupling process is indicated and a mechanism with a Ni(I)-Ni(III) catalytic cycle is proposed.

The present invention provides a novel material capable of realizing excellent color purity of blue, a light-emitting element and a light-emitting device using the novel material. The present invention provides an oligonaphthalene derivative represented by the formula (1). The oligonaphthalene derivatives of the present invention have an extremely large band gap, can emit light with extremely short wavelength, and can emit blue light with favorable color purity. In addition, a light-emitting element that can exhibit excellent color purity of blue can be obtained by applying this material to the light-emitting element or a light-emitting device; therefore the light-emitting element having superior color reproducibility can be provided.
