Vinyl Methacrylate, also known as VMA or Methacrylic Acid, is a colorless liquid with a sweet, pungent odor. As a monomer, it is widely used in the production of polymers and co-polymers, among other industrial processes. These materials are found in an array of commercial products, including coatings, adhesives, sealants, oil additives, and textiles. While it is a valuable industrial chemical, Vinyl Methacrylate has potential harmful effects. It is classified as an irritant and can cause severe skin burns and eye damage. There's also concern about its potential environmental impact, as it is considered toxic to aquatic life.

The process gives the desired vinyl esters with high yield.
