General Description

2-Methyl-4-(4,4,5,5-Tetramethyl-1,3,2-Dioxaborolan-2-Yl)Phenol, also known as TMPD-Borane, is a boron-containing compound used in organic synthesis and as a stabilizer in radical polymerization reactions. It is a colorless to light yellow liquid with a faint, sweet odor, and is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. TMPD-Borane is a versatile reagent in organic synthesis, particularly in the formation of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds. It is also used as a boron source in the preparation of various boron compounds. Additionally, TMPD-Borane has been investigated for its potential use as an antioxidant in polymers and as a stabilizer for lithium-ion batteries. Due to its reactivity and potential hazards associated with boron compounds, proper handling and storage precautions should be taken when working with TMPD-Borane.
