In addition, APS's CEO, Dr. Frank Harris, was formerly a Distinguished Professor of Polymer Science and Biomedical Engineering with the University of Akron’s prestigious College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering. The Chief Technical Advisor, Dr. Stephen Cheng, is currently the Dean of the College. Drs. Harris and Cheng have collaborated for many years and patented a number of innovative polymers, including a family of polyimides that have been commercialized for use in liquid crystal displays to improve viewing angle and image quality.
