Gemin X Pharmaceuticals is engaged in the discovery, development and commercialization of novel, targeted cancer therapeutics to improve the lives of patients. It is founded in 1997 by leading scientists and researchers in programmed cell death (apoptosis). At present, it occupies a 15,000 square foot research facility located in downtown Montreal. Its Clinical Development, Regulatory and Drug Development teams are based in Gemin X's US offices located in Malvern, PA. Gemin X also has a team of 54 highly skilled and motivated individuals, many with graduate degrees in molecular biology, chemistry and medicine.

Gemin X is a fully integrated oncology company with core capabilities in target discovery and validation, high-throughput screening, medicinal chemistry and preclinical development. It has several lead cancer compounds such as GX15-070 (obatoclax), Obatoclax mesilate with cas registry number of 803712-79-0, and GMX1777. Obatoclax has patent protection through 2025. It is a novel small molecule that selectively reinitiates programmed cell death, or apoptosis, and may also be effective in inducing cancer cell self-digestion, or autophagy. Obatoclax has shown promising activity in both preclinical and early human clinical studies and is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials as both a single agent and combination therapy. Gemin X also has other active and promising oncology research programs in the areas of SMAC Mimetic and Telomere Capping.
