DL-Benzoin Uses

DL-Benzoin (CAS NO.579-44-2) has been used as analytical reagent, organic synthesis intermediate and preservative.

DL-Benzoin Production

Mixed Benzene formaldehyde with Ethanol , and take Sodium hydroxide solution to adjust pH value of 7-8, then adding 3% of the Sodium cyanide solution. Then at the 75-80 °C refluxing 0.5h, cooled to 10 °C below for filtration. Take the cake being washed to non - Cyanide to derive the product, the yield of 90%.
