NH₂Cl. A colorless, unstable, pungent liquid; soluble in water; decomposes (slowly in dilute solution) to form nitrogen plus hydrochloric acid and ammonium chloride. Mp −66 C, soluble in alcohol and ether. (Do not confuse with chloramine-T.) Chloramine is an intermediate in the manufacturing of hydrazine.
