Bp 233C, mp 65–67C (2,4-), 35C (3,4-). 2,4-Isomer soluble in methanol, ethanol, ether, and acetone; insoluble in water. 2,5-Isomer soluble in ethanol and ether. 3,4-Isomer soluble in ethanol, ether, and acetone; slightly soluble in methanol and amyl ether; insoluble in water.
Use:
Intermediate in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, dyes, and other organic chemicals.
