General term for a family of silicones of composition [(CH₃)₂SiO]_x, the more volatile materials formed on hydrolysis of dimethyldichlorosilane. Colorless oils with boiling point ranging from 134C (for x = 3) to 188C (20 mm Hg) (for x = 9).

Use:

Transformer liquid, brake fluids.
