    Detailed information:
    An ester of glycerol and fatty acids in which one or more of the hydroxyl groups of the glycerol have been replaced by acid radicals. The latter may be identical or different so that the glyceride may contain up to three different acid groups. Glycerides can be made synthetically. The most common are based on fatty acids that occur naturally in oils and fats.See Monoglyceride; Triglyceride.
