    A process for the removal of sulfides from a gas by passing the gas through a mixture of iron oxide, Fe2O3 (called iron sponge or iron mass), and wood shavings. The iron oxide is converted to iron sulfide and can be regenerated by allowing the iron sulfide to contact air.See Iron Sponge, Spent.
