    White, bulky powder. D 7.592, mp decomposes at 145C, absorbs carbon dioxide from air. Soluble in alkalies; slightly soluble in water; soluble in nitric and acetic acids. Noncombustible.
     
    Derivation:
    By the addition of sodium or ammonium hydroxide to a solution of a lead salt with subsequent filtration and drying.
     
    Hazard:
    Toxic material. TLV: 0.15 mg(Pb)/m3.
     
    Use:
    Lead salts, lead dioxide.
