| Derivation: |
| Three methods are used: (1) lead sulfide ore (galena) is subjected to high temperatures in an oxidizing atmosphere; (2) molten lead is sprayed into a jet of ignited fuel gas and air in the presence of sulfur dioxide gas; (3) atomized metallic lead is mixed with water, and sulfuric acid is added under controlled conditions. |
