Any of various colored earthy powders consisting essentially of hydrated ferric oxides mixed with clay, sand, etc. Some grades are calcined (burnt ocher). The colors are yellow, brown, or red. Noncombustible.

Use:

Paint pigments, cosmetics, theatrical makeup.
