A brown thermoplastic resin obtained by the reaction of acetylene with carbazole. It softens at 150C, and has excellent dielectric properties, good heat, and chemical stability but poor mechanical strength.

Use:

Substitute for mica in electrical equipment and as an impregnant for paper capacitors.
