(1869–1930). An Austrian chemist who won the Nobel Prize in 1923. He was also a medical doctor who worked in micromechanical analysis and developed determinations for hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, and organic groups using micromethods. He was educated at Tubingen, Leipzig, and Berlin.
