Retrosynthesis

    Name:
    Retrosynthesis
    Detailed information:
A computer-assisted analysis of an organic molecule that is to be synthesized, i.e., the target molecule, in which the computer works back through the precursors of the target substance to a group of possible starting materials that are readily available from natural sources or as commercial products. Retrosynthetic analysis is thus the opposite of the usual direct approach to laboratory synthesis.See Computational Chemistry.
