    Properties:
    Light-pink, rose-red, brownish-red, or brown mineral; white streak; vitreous to pearly luster; photoluminescent. Found in veins with ores of silver, lead, copper manganese. D 3.3–3.6, Mohs hardness 3–4.
     
    Occurrence:
    U.S. (Connecticut, New Jersey, Colorado, Montana, Nevada), Europe.
     
    Use:
    Manganese ore.
