Method of removing hydrogen sulfide from a gas by absorption in sodium carbonate solution. Sodium bicarbonate and sodium hydrosulfide are formed. By blowing air through this solution, hydrogen sulfide is released and carried off, and the sodium carbonate is regenerated.
