Nitrocellulose containing about 13.1% nitrogen, produced by blending material of somewhat lower (12.6%) and slightly higher (13.2%) nitrogen content, converting to a dough with alcohol-ether mixture, extruding, cutting, and drying to a hard, horny product. Small amounts of stabilizers (amines) and plasticizers are usually present, as well as various modifying agents (nitrotoluene, nitroglycerin salts).
Hazard:
A low explosive, dangerous fire and explosion risk when exposed to flame or impact.
