    Starch in which the original anhydroglucose units have been partially changed to dialdehyde form by oxidation, for example, the product of the oxidation of cornstarch by periodic acid. Available in cationic dispersions up to 15% solids for mixing with paper pulp.
    Use:
    Thickening agent, tanning agent, binder for leaf tobacco, adhesives, wet-strength additive in paper.
