A polynuclear complex in the form of a six-membered ring. The two chromium atoms are bridged on one side by a hydroxyl group, and on the other side by the carboxyl oxygens of the stearic acid. The water-soluble complex results from the neutralization of stearic acid with basic chromic chloride. It acts as a water repellent and abherent.
