    A mixture of terpenes, chiefly dipentene and terpinene.
    Properties:
    Colorless liquid. D 0.862–0.866, inactive optical rotation, Bp 160–172C. Soluble in alcohol; insoluble in water.
     
    Derivation:
    From oil of turpentine.
     
    Hazard:
    Flammable, moderate fire risk. Toxic by ingestion and inhalation.
     
    Use:
    To impart water and oil resistance to cellulosics.
