Platelets, tablets, or needlelike crystals. Fairly soluble in water; slightly soluble in alcohol; decomposes in moist atmosphere liberating propionic acid. Combustible.
Derivation:
By dissolving zinc oxide in dilute propionic acid and concentrating the solution.
Use:
Fungicide on adhesive tape.
