the production of CO and not CO. Although it was not possible to

provide more sufficient supporting evidence for this effect, we be-
lieve that the findings herein will be helpful in attempts to under-
stand methanol oxidation mechanism. Furthermore, we also confirm
the possibility that formic acid could be used as a fuel in conjunction
with PtAu catalysts, which is a topic for a future study.
