  • Uses sage extract (Salvia officinalis) is considered to have astringent, antibacterial, anti-septic, anti-inflammatory, stimulating, softening, invigorating, and healing properties. Sage extract was traditionally used as a remedy for every type of inflammation. Among its constituents are an essential oil, which contains borneol, cineole, and thujone, as well as tannic acid, oleic acid, fumaric acid, caffeic acid, niacin, nicotinamide, flavones, and glycosides. The extract is obtained from the herb’s leaves.
