  • Description 1-Methyl-4-imidazoleacetic acid (MIMA) is a stable metabolite of histamine that is produced by the oxidation of the primary metabolite, N-methylhistamine. Urinary levels of MIMA are commonly measured to evaluate histamine secretion, particularly in the context of systemic mastocytosis.
  • Uses 1-Methyl-4-imidazoleacetic Acid Hydrochloride is a metabolite of histamine (H436500), which is produced by mast cells and involved with the inflammatory response. 1-Methyl-4-imidazoleacetic Acid Hydrochloride can also be used to synthesize N-[1-(9,10-methano-9-anthracenylmethyl)-4-piperidinyl]alkanamides and analogs as dopamine D2 receptor antagonists.
