Description Sulconazole nitrate is an imidazole antifungal agent closely related to econazole. It is effective in the topical treatment of a broad spectrum of superficial fungal infections.
Uses Antifungal.
Clinical Use 1-[2,4-Dichloro-β-[p-chlorobenzyl)thio]phenethyl]imidazolemononitrate (Exelderm) is the white crystalline nitricacid salt of sulconazole. It is sparingly soluble in water butsoluble in ethanol. The salt is used in a solution and a cream in 1% concentration for the treatment of local tinea infections,such as jock itch, athlete’s foot, and ringworm.
