  • Uses DAF-FM diacetate is an important reagent for quantification of low concentrations of nitric oxide in solution. 4-Amino-5-methylamino-2',7'-difluorofluoresceindiacetate is essentially nonfluorescent until it reacts with NO to form a fluorescent benzotriazole. With excitation/emission maxima of 495 DAF-FM DA has been used to measure the nitric oxide (NO) levels in liver tissue homogenates. It has also been used in NO staining for detection of NO from human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs).
