Uses
2-Pyridinol (Levetiracetam EP Impurity C) is used as a reactant in the synthesis of di-2-pyridyl thionocarbonate as a dehydration, and thiocarbonyl transfer reagent (1). 2-Pyridinol is also an impurity of Levetiracetam (L331500) the (S)-enantiomer of Etiracetam (E932970) and the ethyl analog of Piracetam (P500800). Used as an anticonvulsant (2). Neuroprotective & Neuroresearch Product.
