The study focuses on the chemistry of phosphorus ylides, specifically exploring the synthesis of antimicrobial agents derived from the reaction of aminoantipyrine, coumarin- and quinoline-carbaldehyde with phosphacumulene and phosphaallene ylides. These reactions led to the formation of various compounds, including pyrrolo-pyrazoles, azaphospholes, chromeno-phosphanylidenes, chromeno-pyridinones, and oxaphosphetanes. The purpose of using these chemicals was to create new bioactive phosphorus compounds with potential antimicrobial properties. The study also aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of these newly synthesized compounds against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as fungi and yeast. The results indicated that some of the synthesized compounds exhibited significant antimicrobial activity, making them promising candidates for further development as antimicrobial agents.
