The systematic name of Hydrated silica is dioxosilane. With the CAS registry number 112926-00-8, it is also named as Silica gel. It is white to off-white powder which is insoluble in water and inorganic acids, but soluble in hydrofluoric acid and concentrated caustic soda solution. Preparation of Hydrated silica: First, salting the sodium silicate solution and sodium chloride solution, and then using 31% hydrochloric acid to decompose, precipitating out particles of silica gel. After washing, dewatering, drying, crushing, screening, we can get the product.
Uses of Hydrated silica: It is not only used as adsorbent, anti-blushing agent and catalyst carrier, but also used as gas chromatography reagent and thin-layer chromatography reagent. And this chemical is also used as antisticking agent of polypropylene and polyethylene film, thickener of mastic coatings and unsaturated resin, flatting agent of powder coating and furniture coatings, anticaking agent of powdered material.
