The Acid Black 168, with the cas registry number 12238-87-8, has other names as Sella Fast Grey BRL. This is a kind of black well-distributed powder and its products category are including dye; acidic dye; neutral dye.

The production method of making this chemical is as follows: Firstly, prepare the material of 4-nitro-2-aminophenol, 1-amino-2-hydroxy-4-naphthalenesulfonic acid, 1-acetamido-7-naphthol, 2-naphthol; Secondly, diazotize the 4-nitro-2-aminophenol and 1-amino-2-hydroxy-4-naphthalenesulfonic acid, and then couple with 1-acetamido-7-naphthol and 2-naphthol; Lastly complex with sodium chromium salicyloate, then go through the listing process of filtering and drying to get the products.
 
As to its usage, it is widely applied in many ways. It could be used in dyeing and direct printing of wool, silk, tussah silk, nylon, vinylon fabric, cotton.
