Uses of 1-Ethyl-2-methylindole: it can be used to produce 2-(1'-Ethyl-2'-methylindol-3'-yl)-nitroethen. It will need reagent CF₃COOH and solvent CH₂Cl₂ with reaction time of 1 hour. The yield is about 63%.
