The IUPAC name of Difenacoum is 2-hydroxy-3-[3-(4-phenylphenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-yl]chromen-4-one. With the CAS registry number 56073-07-5, it is also named as 2H-1-Benzopyran-2-one, 3-(3-(1,1'-biphenyl)-4-yl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1-naphthalenyl)-4-hydroxy-; Neosorexa. When heated to decomposition it emits acrid smoke and irritating vapors.

Uses of Difenacoum: It has anticoagulant effects and is used as a rodenticide, so it is used to control rats and mice resistant to other anticoagulants with varying degrees of activity. And it is sold as blue-green pellets intended to be ingested by pests such as rats and mice.
