Preparation of Ceftazidime anhydrous: it is prepared by reaction of cefotaxime pyridine. Firstly, cefotaxime pyridine reacts with trimethyl silicon chloride and phosphorus pentachloride to get amorphous solid. Dealing with the solid by acetonitrile containing hydrochloric acid. Secondly, the compound reacts with (z)-2-(2-tert-butoxy carbonyl C-2-oxygen Nokia amino)-2-(2-triphenylmethyl-amino thiazol-4-yl) acetyl chloride with solvent dichloromethane. Thirdly, add mixture of dimethylformamide, formic acid and hydrochloric acid after washing and steaming. At last, add acetone or methanol after removing sediment. Compound is dissolved in water and the precipitate is the Ceftazidime.

Ceftazidime is prepared by reaction of cefotaxime pyridine.
