From the mature or immature fruit of Piper cubeba, dried crushed derived, then steam distillation. The yield is 10% ~ 18%. Mainly in Indonesia and Sri Lanka.

 Cubeb oil (CAS NO.8007-87-2) is colorless or light green to blue-green-volatile oils. It has spice and camphor with a characteristic flavor, a slight spicy flavor. It can soluble in ethanol, chloroform, most of the non-volatile oil and mineral oil, insoluble in water, glycerin and propylene glycol.
