General Description
(R)-1,2-BIS(DIPHENYLPHOSPHINO)CYCLOHEXYLETHANE, also known as DCPPE, is a chiral diphosphine ligand widely used in asymmetric catalysis. It is a white to off-white solid with a molecular formula of C34H34P2 and a molecular weight of 510.61 g/mol. DCPPE has a chelating structure due to its two phosphine groups connected to a cyclohexyl backbone, which provides steric and electronic properties that are useful in various catalytic reactions. It is commonly used in organic synthesis to facilitate asymmetric hydrogenation reactions and other catalytic processes, making it an important tool in the production of pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 121902-84-9 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,2,1,9,0 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 121902-84:
(8*1)+(7*2)+(6*1)+(5*9)+(4*0)+(3*2)+(2*8)+(1*4)=99
99 % 10 = 9
So 121902-84-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

1,2-Bis(diphenylphosphino)-1-cyclohexylethane. A New Chiral Phosphine Ligand for Catalytic Chiral Hydrogenations
Riley, Dennis P.,Shumate, Robert E.
, p. 5187 - 5193 (1980)
The new chiral bidentate phosphine ligand (R)-1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1-cyclohexylethane ((R)-Cycphos) has been prepared. The rhodium(I) cationic complex of this phosphine serves as an effective homogeneous asymmetric hydrogenation catalyst for the reduction of (Z)-α-amidoacrylic acids at ambient temperature and pressure.Optical yields for the corresponding (S)-α-amino acid derivatives that are produced are generally above 90percent.The success of this ligand in giving higher optical yields than those obtained from other structurally analogous phosphines is rationalized in terms of the bulky cyclohexyl substituent affording a more stereochemically rigid chelating phosphine.
