1405-89-6 Usage

Description

Zinc bacitracin is a zinc complex of bacitracin, a polypeptide antibiotic produced by the growth of an organism of the licheniformis group of Bacillus subtilis. The main components are Bacitracin A, B1, and B2. It has antibiotic activity against a variety of Gram-positive bacteria, including staphylococci. The zinc complex adds stability to the component, making zinc bacitracin more stable compared to bacitracin. It is a white or pale brownish-yellow powder, odorless or with a faint characteristic odor, and is soluble in water and ethanol.

Uses

1. Used in Livestock and Poultry Industry:
Zinc bacitracin is used as a feed additive for promoting the growth of livestock and poultry, as well as for the prevention and treatment of livestock and poultry bacterial diarrhea and dense helicoid caused by blood dysentery. It is administered orally and is not easily absorbed, mostly excreted with feces within two days. It has minimal residue in livestock and poultry products, and bacteria show very little resistance to bacitracin. It does not have cross-resistance with other antibiotics and has a synergistic effect with penicillin, streptomycin, and neomycin.
2. Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Zinc bacitracin is a polypeptide antibiotic that is effective against gram-positive bacteria, exerting a bactericidal effect. Its mechanism primarily involves inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls and can also combine with sensitive bacteria cell membranes, causing damage to the cell membrane integrity and resulting in the outflow of essential cellular materials. It effectively inhibits gram-positive bacteria and some gram-negative bacteria, with slower resistance development in bacteria and no cross-resistance with other antibiotics.
3. Used in Research and Development:
Zinc bacitracin is used as a dephosphorylation agent of the C55-isoprenyl pyrophosphate, interfering with the inhibition of cleavage of Tyr from Met-enkephalin with an IC50 of 10 μM. This application is relevant in the field of research and development for understanding the mechanisms of various biological processes and the development of new therapeutic agents.
4. Used in Topical Medications:
Small amounts of zinc bacitracin can be dissolved in petroleum jelly to create antibiotic ointments, which are used for treating various skin infections and conditions caused by gram-positive bacteria.

what is bacitracin zinc used for

Bacitracin zinc is bacitracin and zinc ions to form complexes, which is a polypeptide antibiotic, is one of the most widely used antibiotics in feed additives, zinc content is 2%~12%. synthetic product is white or yellowish powder, with special odor, deliquescent alkaline substance, soluble in water, methanol and ethanol. Bacitracin zinc has strong antibacterial effect against gram positive bacteria, also has antibacterial properties of some gram negative bacteria. The use of bacitracin zinc in pig feed, can promote growth, improve feed, prevention and treatment of swine bacterial diarrhea and chronic respiratory diseases. The concentration of 10 in general to 100mg/kg, more than the addition range of effect was not improved obviously. Bacitracin zinc in swine intestine is not generally absorbed, so there is no problem, is a reliable and safe antibiotic additives. Bacitracin zinc toxicity is strong, and not easy to be absorbed, it can not be used as a systemic infection treatment.

Biological functions

Bacitracin zinc is a medicine applied to cuts and other skin wounds to help prevent infection. bacitracin is a germ-killing medicine called an antibiotic. peptide antibiotics have a strong antibacterial effect on the gram positive bacteria, also has antibacterial effect to a small number of Gram-negative bacteria, and the spiral and actinomycetes and resistant to penicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus. The antibacterial mechanism inhibits for the formation of damage and bacterial cell wall. The bacterial cytoplasmic membrane can promote beneficial intestinal microbial growth, increased intestinal permeability, promote the absorption of nutrients. Mainly used to promote the growth of livestock and poultry, livestock and poultry as well as prevention and treatment of bacterial diarrhea caused by Treponema pig dysentery. Oral administration of bacitracin zinc is almost no absorption, mostly in 2 days with the feces. So it is not easy to remain in the livestock and poultry products; bacteria to bacitracin produced very little resistance, and other antibiotics nor cross resistance and with penicillin, streptomycin, neomycin, streptomycin, mostly clay bacteria and have a synergistic effect. This product is toxic, not injection. The goods and olaquindox, guitar mold, mold of Virginia, Pinella mildew element existence is incompatibility.

Indications

Bacitracin zinc is composed of a group of polypeptides with antibiotic activity against a variety of Gram-positive bacteria including staphylococci. It is used in the treatment of local infections, mainly infections of the skin, ear and eye.

storage

Bacitracin zinc should be kept in a tightly closed container, protected from light, and stored at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. If it is intended for parenteral administration, the container should be sterile and sealed so as to exclude microorganisms.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1405-89-6 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,4,0 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1405-89:
(6*1)+(5*4)+(4*0)+(3*5)+(2*8)+(1*9)=66
66 % 10 = 6
So 1405-89-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
