[(2E,4R)-4-amino-5-ethoxy-2-methyl-5-oxopent-2-en-1-yl]phosphonic acid, also known as AMEP, is a synthetic compound that is a potent inhibitor of cell proliferation and an inducer of apoptosis in a variety of cancer cell lines.
