, p. 6285 - 6286 (2006)
One-pot synthesis of γ,δ-unsaturated carbonyl compounds from allyl alcohols and vinyl or isopropenyl acetates was achieved through in situ generation of allyl vinyl ethers by the action of the [IrCl(cod)]2 complex followed by Claisen rearrangement of the resulting ethers. For instance, the reaction of trans-2-methyl-3-phenyl-2-propen-1-ol with isopropenyl acetate in the presence of [IrCl(cod)]2 (1 mol %) and Cs2CO 3 (5 mol %) at 100 °C for 3 h followed by 140 °C for 15 h afforded 5-methyl-4-phenyl-5-hexen-2-one in 72% yield. When vinyl acetate was employed in place of isopropenyl acetate, 4-methyl-3-phenyl-4-pentenal was obtained in 83% yield.
Organoselenium-Catalyzed Regioselective C?H Pyridination of 1,3-Dienes and Alkenes

, p. 3201 - 3205 (2017)
An efficient approach for organoselenium-catalyzed regioselective C?H pyridination of 1,3-dienes to form pyridinium salts has been developed. This method was also successfully applied to direct C?H pyridination of alkenes. Fluoropyridinium reagents, or initially loaded pyridine derivatives, acted as pyridine sources in the pyridination reactions. The obtained pyridinium salts could be further converted under different conditions. This work is the first example of catalytic C-2 direct C?H functionalization of 1,3-dienes and the first case of organoselenium-catalyzed C?H pyridination.
Regioselective functionalization of pyrones: Facile synthesis of 6-styrylpyrones via KHMDS-mediated aldol condensation

supporting information, (2022/01/03)
Herein, we disclose our efforts directed toward the synthesis of the kavalactone-based natural product penstyrylpyrone and other related 4-OMe-2-pyrones possessing diverse substituents at the 3-, 5-, and 7-positions. Further, a facile approach to access 6-styrylpyrones via the KHMDS-mediated regioselective aldol condensation of 2-pyrones is described with moderate substrate scope and good to high yields (58–80%). The utility of this methodology was exemplified by the stereoselective construction of desmethoxyyangonin, asnipyrone A, and asnipyrone B.
Method for synthesizing alkyl olefin through coupling of double-bond carbon-hydrogen bond and saturated carbon-hydrogen bond

Paragraph 0060-0069; 0093, (2021/02/10)
The invention discloses a method for synthesizing alkyl olefin through coupling of a double-bond carbon-hydrogen bond and a saturated carbon-hydrogen bond. According to to the method, one-pot reactionis implemented on olefin and sulfoxide in the presence of ferric salt and hydrogen peroxide to generate alkyl olefin; in the method, sulfoxide is simultaneously used as a hydrocarbylation reagent anda solvent of olefin, and a reaction product is alkyl olefin from sulfoxide alkyl coupled with olefin carbon atoms, so that an olefin carbon chain is increased; the reaction conditions are mild, the selectivity is good, the yield is high, and industrial production is facilitated.
PhIO-Mediated oxidative dethioacetalization/dethioketalization under water-free conditions

, p. 48 - 65 (2021/06/16)
Treatment of thioacetals and thioketals with iodosobenzene in anhydrous DCM conveniently afforded the corresponding carbonyl compounds in high yields under water-free conditions. The mechanistic studies indicate that this dethioacetalization/dethioketalization process does not need water and the oxygen of the carbonyl products comes from the hypervalent iodine reagent.
