In the conjugate reaction of acetyl chloride with cyclohexane and phenetole in the presence of aluminum chloride ketoalkylation of the phenetole occurs with the formation of 2- and 4-(p-ethoxyphenyl)hexahydroacetophenones.In addition, the reaction mixture contained p-cyclohexylphenetole and p-ethoxyacetophenone.
