In addition to five already known diterpenoids, columbin (2), isocolumbin (3), chasmanthin (4), palmarin (5), and isojateorin (6), a new furanoid diterpene glucoside named palmatoside A (1) was isolated from the dried roots of Jateorhiza palmata Miers (Colombo root).The structure of 1 was elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic evidence to be 4-O-(β-D-glucopyranosyl)palmarin.
