10139-54-5 Usage

General Description

Cobalt neocaprate is a chemical compound that is made by combining cobalt with neocaprylic acid. It is often used as a catalyst in various chemical reactions, particularly in organic synthesis. Cobalt neocaprate is known for its ability to catalyze the selective oxidation of alcohols and alkenes, as well as the hydroformylation of alkenes. It is also used in the production of specialty chemicals and polymers. Additionally, cobalt neocaprate has been studied for its potential applications in medicine, including as an anti-inflammatory agent. Overall, cobalt neocaprate plays a valuable role in a variety of chemical processes and has potential for further development in both industrial and medicinal applications.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 10139-54-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,0,1,3 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 10139-54:
(7*1)+(6*0)+(5*1)+(4*3)+(3*9)+(2*5)+(1*4)=65
65 % 10 = 5
So 10139-54-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Phase behavior and liquid-crystal properties of transition-metal decanoates

Mirnaya,Sudovtsova,Yaremchuk,Tolochko,Lisetskii

, p. 1440 - 1443 (2008/10/09)

Differential thermal analysis (DTA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polythermal polarized-light microscopy (PPM), and small-angle X-ray scattering are used to study the phase behavior of transition-metal decanoates (C9H19COO)2M, where M = Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, or Cd. All the salts, except zinc decanoate, have liquid-crystal properties. Manganese, cobalt, nickel, and copper decanoates form enantiotropic smectics A. Cadmium decanoate forms monotropic smectic A. The layers formed by organic anions in the mesophase are contracted. The higher the polarizing ability of the transition-metal cation, the stronger the contraction.
