Generation and coordinating properties of a carbene bearing a phosphorus ylide: An intensely electron-donating ligand
Nakafuji, Shin-Ya,Kobayashi, Junji,Kawashima, Takayuki
, p. 1141 - 1144 (2008)
A generous giver: Rh and Pd complexes of an ylide-substituted carbene were synthesized. The carbonyl stretching vibration of the Rh complex (see picture; Rh purple, C turquoise, N blue, O red, P orange, Cl green) was observed at the lowest wave-number of all cis-[RhCl(CO)2(carbene)] complexes known to date, which indicates that this is the strongest known electron-donating carbene.
Synthesis and complexations of a novel stable carbene bearing a phosphorus ylide
Nakafuji, Shin-Ya,Kobayashi, Junji,Kawashima, Takayuki
body text, p. 642 - 643 (2009/04/05)
Rh complexes 5 and 6 were synthesized via the titled carbine 1. In the IR spectrum of 6, the carbonyl stretching frequency was observed at the lower wave number among all [(carbene)Rh(CO)2Cl] complxes reported to date, including the highest electron-donating ability of carbene 1.
