It is also known by the trade name Ketotifen and is commonly used as a pharmaceutical drug with antihistamine and anti-asthmatic properties. It works by inhibiting the release of allergic mediators such as histamine and leukotrienes from cells involved in allergic reactions, thus reducing the symptoms of allergies and asthma. 7-IsoquinolinaMine, 1-chloro-3-(3-Methoxyphenyl)-N,N-diMethyl- is typically administered orally in the form of tablets or oral solution, and it is also available as an ophthalmic solution for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis. While it is generally well tolerated, some potential side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, and dry mouth.
