10311-84-9 Usage

Chemical Properties

Dialifor is a crystalline solid. The commercial product may also be available as a colorless oil.

Uses

Different sources of media describe the Uses of 10311-84-9 differently. You can refer to the following data:
1. Insecticide; acaricide.
2. Nonsystemic insecticide and acaricide to control chewing and sucking insects and spider mites on a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

General Description

White crystalline solid, also reported as a colorless oil, colorless. Used as an insecticide and acaricide (kills beetles, ticks, mites, etc.).

Reactivity Profile

Releases nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, and phosphorus oxides when heated. Readily hydrolyzed by concentrated alkali. Avoid alkali. [EPA, 1998]. Organophosphates, such as DIALIFOS, are susceptible to formation of highly toxic and flammable phosphine gas in the presence of strong reducing agents such as hydrides. Partial oxidation by oxidizing agents may result in the release of toxic phosphorus oxides.

Health Hazard

Different sources of media describe the Health Hazard of 10311-84-9 differently. You can refer to the following data:
1. DIALIFOS can cause serious symptoms and in extreme cases death by respiratory arrest.
2. Highly toxic by all routes of exposure;exhibits acute, delayed, and chronic effect;cholinesterase inhibitor; symptoms of poi-soning are similar to those of parathion, including weakness and twitching of mus-cle, headache, giddiness, dizziness, excessivesalivation, lacrimation, tightness in chest, blurred vision, slurred speech, mental confu-sion, and drowsiness; gastrointestinal effectsinclude nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and diarrhea; heavy exposure can lead to dif-ficulty in breathing, convulsions, and coma;median lethal doses reported in the literatureshow inconsistent and varying values.LD50 oral (rat): 5–53 mg/kgLD50 oral (mouse): 39–65 mg/kgLD50 oral (rabbit): 35 mg/kgLD50 skin (rabbit): 145 mg/kg.

Fire Hazard

Releases nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, and phosphorus oxides when heated. Readily hydrolyzed by concentrated alkali. Avoid alkali.

Safety Profile

Poison by ingestion and skin contact. An experimental teratogen. Other experimental reproductive effects. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of SOx, POx, and NOx.

Potential Exposure

A potential danger to those involved in the manufacture, formulation and application of this insecticide.

Environmental Fate

Chemical/Physical. Though no products were identified, the hydrolysis half-lives at 20°C were 15 days and 14 hours at pH 6.1 and pH 7.4, respectively (Freed et al., 1979, 1979a).

Shipping

UN2811 Toxic solids, organic, n.o.s., Hazard Class: 6.1; Labels: 6.1-Poisonous materials, Technical Name Required.

Incompatibilities

Strong bases. Contact with oxidizers may cause the release of phosphorous oxides. Contact with strong reducing agents, such as hydrides, may cause the formation of flammable and toxic phosphine gas.

Waste Disposal

Alkaline hydrolysis or incineration. In accordance with 40CFR165, follow recom- mendations for the disposal of pesticides and pesticide containers. Must be disposed properly by following pack- age label directions or by contacting your local or federal environmental control agency, or by contacting your regional EPA office.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 10311-84-9 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,0,3,1 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 10311-84:
(7*1)+(6*0)+(5*3)+(4*1)+(3*1)+(2*8)+(1*4)=49
49 % 10 = 9
So 10311-84-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

, (2007/10/11)

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve work efficiency for attaching and detaching a process unit in which a photoreceptor drum and an intermediate transfer belt are unitized to and from a printer body by reducing load on an operator when attaching and detaching the process unit to and from the printer body. SOLUTION: The process unit 30 is constituted by unitizing the photoreceptor 2, the intermediate transfer belt 6, an electrifying roll 3 and a cleaning device 20, etc.. Rails 56 and 58 on which projecting parts 36 and 38 provided on both ends of the process unit 30 can be slid are formed on a supporting member 60 of a main body cover 52. By opening the body cover 52 toward the front direction (direction of an arrow A) of the printer body 50, the process unit 30 is moved from a first position T1to a second position T2. Then, by pulling out the process unit 30 in a direction diagonally upward in front along the rails 56 and 58 from the second position T2, the process unit 30 is extracted.
