The disperse yellow 64 is prepared by adopting an applying method of feeding, dropwise adding of bromine, preserving heat, discharging, filtering, recovery of mother liquor, washing with water, and obtaining of a product. Compared with the step of solvent recovery in the traditional method, the method of the invention has the following characteristics that the energy consumption is reduced, the cost is saved, the production period is shortened, and the prepared disperse yellow 64 product has the purity of more than 98% and bright color.
