Thiophene-fused Tetracyanoquinondimethanes as Electron Acceptors for Conducting Charge-transfer Salts
Kobayashi, Keiji,Gajurel, C. L
, p. 1779 - 1780 (1986)
Four isomeric benzodithiophene analogues of 11,11,12,12-tetracyano-9,10-anthraquinodimethane (1)-(4) have been prepared, in which (1) and (2) exhibited excelent reduction potentials as electron acceptors and formed highly conducting charge-transfer complexes with tetrathiafulvalene.
An Isomeric Series of Thiophene-Fused Tetracyanoquinodimethanes. I. Preparation and Physico-Chemical Properties
Kobayashi, Keiji,Gajurel, Chhabi L.,Umemoto, Kisaburo,Mazaki, Yasuhiro
, p. 2168 - 2172 (1992)
Four isomeric benzodithiophene analogs of 11,11,12,12-tetracyano-9,10-anthraquinodimethane have been prepared via a TiCl4 mediated condensation of the corresponding quinone and malononitrile. The reduction potential of these isomers was interpreted in terms of the resonance energies for the neutral and radical anion species. These new acceptor compounds, except for 4,8-bis(dicyanomethylene)-4,8-dihydrobenzodithiophene, formed crystalline charge-transfer complexes with tetrathiafulvalene, among which the complex of 4,8-bis(dicyanomethylene)-4,8-dihydrobenzodithiophene particularly exhibited a high room-temperature conductivity of 4.78 Scm-1.
4,8-BIS(DICYANOMETHYLENE)-4,8-DIHYDROBENZODITHIOPHENE. A NEW ELECTRON ACCEPTOR
Kobayashi, Keiji
, p. 1511 - 1512 (1985)
The title compound was designed as a new acceptor and was synthesized from the corresponding quinone and malononitrile.Electrochemical studies suggested that the molecule is not so much distorted as tetracyanoanthraquinodimethane.
SULFUR HETEROCYCLES FOR ORGANIC CONDUCTORS AND SUPERCONDUCTORS
Kobayashi, Keiji
, p. 187 - 208 (2007/10/02)
Series of new ?-donors and acceptors based on sulfur heterocycles have been prepared, and the physico-chemical properties of the neutral species as well as their charge-transfer complexes and radical salts were investigated. These new families are an isomeric series of thiophene-fused TCNQ, a homologous series of thieno-acenes, and an unsymmetrical donor family comprised of dithiadiselenafulvalene framework. The unsymmetrical donor dimethyl(ethylenedithio)dithiadiselenafulvalene (DMET) was found to give various kinds of superconducting radical salts.
