Convenient Synthesis of New Se,Se'-Disubstituted Derivatives of Benzene-1,2-diselenol
Meunier, Philippe,Gautheron, Bernard,Mazouz, Ahmed
, p. 424 - 425 (1986)
The electrophilic cleavage of (η5-t-BuC5H4)2ZrSe2C6H4-o leads easily to new Se,Se'-disubstituted derivatives of benzene-1,2-diselenol in good yield with quantitative recovery of the organometallic moiety of the reagent.
New π-electron donor systems based on acenaphtho[1,2-b][1,4]-dithiine
Bryce, Martin R.,Chesney, Antony,Lay, Alexander K.,Batsanov, Andrei S.,Howard, Judith A. K.
, p. 2451 - 2459 (1996)
Syntheses of the acenaphtho[1,2-b][1,4]dithune derivatives 12, 25 and 29 are reported. Cyclic voltammetric studies reveal that these compounds undergo reversible single-electron oxidations at 2TCNQ (1:1 stoichiometry) and compound 33 are reported. In the structure of 25:Br2TCNQ, molecules of 25 and Br2TCNQ form mixed stacks. The folding of the donor along the S ... S vector in the complex is 17° (cf. 48° in pure 25) and the conformation of 25 is discussed in the light of previous studies on 1,4-dithiine derivatives. An interesting feature of the crystal structure of 33 is the formation of pseudo-dimers with two short intermolecular Se ... Se contacts.

Original synthesis and reactivity of 1,3-benzodiselenolanes
Krief, Alain,Defrere, Laurent
, p. 6571 - 6575 (2007/10/03)
Preliminary results concerning the synthesis and reactivity of 1,3- benzodiselenolanes towards lithium diisopropylamide and butylithiums are described as well as original syntheses of aromatic compounds bearing sulfur and selenium atoms.
DESIGN, SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF THE MOLECULAR COMPONENTS OF ORGANIC CONDUCTORS.
Cowan,Kini,Chiang Long-Yong,Lerstrup,Talham,Poehler,Bloch
, p. 1 - 26 (2007/10/02)
Following an examination of the design constraints for the formulation of good organic conductors and a brief review of the synthesis of heterocyclic selenium pi -donors such as TMTSF and the zero pressure organic superconductor (TMTSF)//2ClO//4, the preparation and characterization of five new pi -donors is outlined. These new pi -donors are dithiophenotetrathiafulvalene, (DTTTF), dithiophenotetraselenafulvalene (DTTSF), dibenzotetraselenafulvalene (DBTSF), dibenzotetratellurafulvalene (DBTTeF), and benzotrisselenophene (BTS).
